Quick answer

No. FreeMessaging.ai does not charge an additional managed-sending fee for the standard messaging service.

What Is a Managed-Sending Fee?

A managed-sending fee is an additional charge some messaging vendors apply when their staff or service team operates a campaign’s messaging program on the campaign’s behalf.

It can be separate from the software or platform fee. A campaign may therefore pay for access to a texting platform and then pay another fee for message setup, scheduling, sending, or operational support.

Does FreeMessaging.ai Charge a Managed-Sending Fee?

No. For the standard FreeMessaging.ai service, the managed-sending fee is $0.

FreeMessaging.ai is designed as a supported campaign messaging service, not simply a self-service software subscription. The campaign still provides required information, campaign approvals, and direction, while FreeMessaging.ai helps operate the standard messaging workflow without adding a separate managed-sending charge.

  • Campaign messaging setup and workflow coordination
  • Preparation and execution of approved message sends
  • Two-way reply routing and basic conversation operations
  • Basic monitoring, campaign data capture, and follow-up workflow support
  • Standard operational support needed to run the messaging program

What Does the Campaign Still Pay For?

The absence of a managed-sending fee does not eliminate the underlying direct costs required to operate political messaging. Campaigns still pay disclosed third-party or usage costs when they apply.

Twilio messaging and phone-number costs — Actual costs associated with sending and receiving messages and maintaining the campaign’s messaging number.

Registration or compliance costs — Applicable third-party costs for Campaign Verify, CV Token, 10DLC registration, or other required messaging registration.

Disclosed AI usage costs — If the campaign uses AI capabilities that create direct usage charges, those costs are disclosed separately.

Other approved third-party costs — If a campaign chooses an outside data source, service, or resource that creates a direct cost, it should be identified before use.

Is Managed Sending the Same as Full Campaign Execution?

No. The standard FreeMessaging.ai service covers the messaging workflow itself. Broader campaign work — such as larger-scale strategy, content production, fundraising execution, GOTV operations, or other customized campaign services — may be separately scoped if the campaign requests them.

A campaign can also continue using its own staff, political consultant, or existing vendors. FreeMessaging.ai does not require the campaign to replace the team or tools that already work.

What If Our Campaign Already Has an SMS Team or Vendor?

Use FreeMessaging.ai as extra reach without replacing the team you already have.

You can keep them. FreeMessaging.ai can be used to add incremental SMS reach and conversation capacity alongside an existing campaign operation.

Because the standard service has no additional managed-sending fee, expanding through FreeMessaging.ai does not require the campaign to add another operational markup simply for having the messages run.

How Is This Different from the $0 Platform Fee?

They address two different types of charges.

Platform fee — A recurring or usage-based software charge for access to the messaging platform.

Managed-sending fee — An additional service charge for having the messaging program operated or sent on the campaign’s behalf.

For the standard FreeMessaging.ai service, both are $0. The campaign still pays the disclosed direct costs required to operate the messaging program.

What This Means for Your Campaign

FreeMessaging.ai lets a campaign start or expand political texting without choosing between a do-it-yourself software product and a separate managed-sending charge. Our team can support the standard messaging workflow while the campaign keeps control of its strategy, approvals, data, and campaign decisions.

This model can work for a campaign launching SMS for the first time or for a larger campaign that already has staff or another vendor and simply wants additional reach.
