What Does “Standard Platform” Mean?
On the FreeMessaging.ai website, “standard platform” is shorthand for the standard FreeMessaging.ai messaging service and its core campaign capabilities. It does not mean that a campaign must operate a do-it-yourself SaaS product on its own.
FreeMessaging.ai is designed as a supported campaign messaging service. The campaign provides its objectives, approved data, campaign information, and content approvals; FreeMessaging.ai helps configure and operate the standard messaging workflow.
What Core Capabilities Are Included?
The standard service is built around the complete path from campaign setup to live conversations and follow-up. Core capabilities include:
- Campaign onboarding and messaging setup
- Contact-data import, organization, and basic field mapping
- Voter CRM records for contact history, tags, supporter signals, issue interests, and follow-up needs
- Candidate knowledge-base setup using campaign-approved background, policy, issue, and FAQ information
- Messaging-program design for defined campaign objectives and audiences
- Two-way SMS outreach and reply handling
- AI-assisted classification and approved-answer support where configured
- WhyIVote mobile candidate-profile and voter-engagement integration where used
- Basic dashboard reporting, response analysis, and data export/handoff
- Standard support for onboarding and messaging operations
What Is Included During Onboarding?
FreeMessaging.ai uses a structured onboarding process so the campaign can move from agreement to a launch-ready messaging program. The standard onboarding workflow can include campaign verification coordination, messaging registration setup, contact-data preparation, voter CRM configuration, candidate knowledge setup, messaging design, launch preparation, and reporting configuration.
Required external registration or verification charges are not converted into a FreeMessaging.ai platform fee. When third-party costs apply, they are disclosed as direct costs.
What Campaign Data and CRM Capabilities Are Included?
FreeMessaging.ai can organize the campaign’s authorized contact data into a messaging-ready voter CRM. The CRM is designed to preserve campaign context and make two-way conversations useful after the initial message is sent.
Contact records — Organized voter, supporter, volunteer, donor, event, or other authorized campaign contacts used by the messaging program.
Conversation history — A record of relevant outreach, replies, and follow-up activity.
Campaign signals — Supporter status, volunteer or donor interest, issue questions, event interest, and other campaign-defined response categories.
Follow-up fields — Tags, status, next action, and other fields used to keep conversations moving.
Suppression controls — Opt-out and suppression information used to prevent messaging contacts who should not receive further outreach.
What Messaging and Conversation Capabilities Are Included?

The standard service is designed for two-way political messaging rather than outbound-only blasting. A campaign can use FreeMessaging.ai to start a new SMS program or add incremental capacity alongside an existing team or vendor.
Messaging programs — Defined outreach for voter contact, events, volunteer recruitment, fundraising, supporter follow-up, GOTV, or other approved campaign objectives.
Initial messages — Campaign-approved outbound messages prepared for the selected audience and objective.
Two-way replies — Inbound responses are routed into the campaign conversation workflow instead of being left as isolated text threads.
Response classification — Replies can be organized into useful campaign categories for follow-up and CRM capture.
Follow-up workflow — Campaign-approved next actions can be associated with the contact and conversation.
How Are AI and the Candidate Knowledge Base Included?
FreeMessaging.ai can use AI to help classify replies, identify common voter intents, and support campaign-approved response workflows. The candidate knowledge base provides the approved information that can ground those interactions, including candidate background, policy positions, issues, FAQs, and authorized answers.
AI is not intended to invent campaign positions. The campaign controls the approved knowledge and response boundaries. If AI usage creates a direct third-party usage cost, that cost is disclosed separately.
How Does WhyIVote Fit Into the Standard Service?
WhyIVote can be connected to FreeMessaging.ai as a voter-facing extension of an SMS conversation. Instead of trying to place a full candidate biography, policy explanation, or issue discussion inside a text message, the campaign can direct interested voters to a mobile candidate profile and related voter-facing information.
A typical path can be: SMS outreach → voter reply or click → WhyIVote candidate profile or issue information → voter question → campaign-approved information → CRM signal and follow-up.
This allows SMS to create attention while WhyIVote provides more depth for voters who want to learn more.
What Reporting and Support Are Included?
The standard service includes basic reporting and operational visibility so the campaign can understand what happened after messages were sent. Depending on the program configuration, the campaign can review messaging activity, replies, response classifications, identified supporter signals, follow-up needs, and program-level results.
Standard onboarding and messaging-operation support is also included. FreeMessaging.ai is not positioned as a campaign software license that is simply handed to staff without support.
What Is Not Included in the $0 Platform Fee?
The standard service does not absorb third-party or usage costs that are required to operate the program. Campaigns still pay applicable direct costs when they occur.
Twilio messaging and number costs — Actual costs associated with sending/receiving messages and maintaining the campaign messaging number.
Registration and compliance costs — Applicable Campaign Verify, CV Token, 10DLC, or other required third-party registration charges.
Disclosed AI usage costs — Direct AI usage costs, when the selected workflow creates them.
Other approved third-party costs — Any additional outside data, service, or resource specifically requested or approved by the campaign.
Does the Standard Service Replace Our Existing Team or Vendor?
No. A campaign can use FreeMessaging.ai as its primary SMS capability or use it to expand an existing texting operation. Larger campaigns that already have staff, consultants, or messaging vendors can keep those resources and use FreeMessaging.ai for additional reach and conversation capacity.
What Is Outside the Standard FreeMessaging.ai Scope?
Broader campaign execution beyond the messaging program can be separately scoped if requested. Examples may include larger strategic workstreams, extensive content production, broader fundraising execution, comprehensive field/GOTV operations, or other customized campaign services. Those activities are not automatically bundled into the standard FreeMessaging.ai service.
FreeMessaging.ai also does not replace the campaign’s legal or compliance counsel. Campaigns remain responsible for their campaign decisions, approvals, data-use authority, and applicable legal obligations.
What This Means for Your Campaign
The standard FreeMessaging.ai service is intended to give campaigns a campaign-grade political texting capability without adding a monthly software fee or managed-sending fee. The campaign can start from zero or add incremental SMS capacity, while keeping control of its strategy, data, approvals, and existing team.
